Taiko master Sensei Koji Nakamura & Paul Winter at Shumei

May 15

Taiko with HIKARI Taiko and Grammy® award winning taiko master Sensei Koji Nakamura, plus

Paul Winter will share with us “In Celebration of the Earth, a journey through Paul Winter’s world of living music”, the concert will feature his soprano sax with the voices of wolf, whale, wood thrush, and other members of what Winter calls “the greater symphony of the Earth.” The concert will be interwoven with stories of his adventures making music in the wilderness. His playing and singing, and the voices of the creatures, will be accompanied by the recorded sounds of his “two-legged musician colleagues” of the Paul Winter Consort.

Winter’s musical odyssey has long embraced the cultures and creatures of the world. His concert tours and recording expeditions have taken him to 52 countries and to wilderness areas on six continents, into which he has travelled on rafts, dog sleds, horses, kayaks, tugboats and Land Rovers. He has recorded 54 albums, seven of which have been honored with Grammy awards, including his 2006 album Crestone.

Please note all events start promptly at the times listed.  Plan to arrive early in order to park, walk to event locations and for best seating.  Sturdy footwear, sun protection, and water bottles are recommended as all events are held outside. You may wish to bring a blanket or a camp chair to sit on during the concert. Seating is available for Sampai.  Dressy casual attire requested. We hope many of you will join us in celebrating world citizenship in community.
