The Denver Museum of Nature and Science will be in Crestone Wednesday October 14. They are coming here to bury human bones from their collection at the Crestone Natural Burial Grounds at the Crestone Cemetery. Not much is known about the twenty individuals whose remains will be buried here. After consulting various religious and secular people the museum decided that burying them was the best way to honor their contribution to science and history. Crestone was chosen for this burial because it’s the only place in the state with a natural burial ground. The ceremony will take place at 3:00 pm at the cemetery. A reception will follow at the Crestone Community Building (old school house) at appx. 4 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
