According to the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office, the San Isabel fire is deemed “nearly contained”. 150 to 200 acres were burned, no structures were damaged. Crews will be out overnight to watch the scene, with a mop up tomorrow. Two “hot shots” teams from Arizona and California, who had been in Colorado fighting the North Fork Fire near Conifer, came and assisted local firefighters today.  Around 85 firefighter personnel were fed dinner at the POA Hall and will be served breakfast by community volunteers.  A quick and effective response by our local firefighters stopped what could have been a devastating fire given the extremely high wind conditions.  A big “Thank You” goes out to all the firefighters.
