The San Luis Valley Small Business Development Center (SLV-SBDC) and the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area (SDCNHA) will be hosting a free business innovation workshop: “ Ca$hing in on Tourism” on Saturday February 28, 2015 from 8 am to 1:30 pm at the SLV Water Conservancy District (623 4th Street Alamosa, CO). This workshop is being held for existing or perspective business entrepreneurs. Takeaways from the workshop will include: understanding what attracts tourists to our community, identifying the gaps in service and generating ideas for meeting those needs. The goal is to assist you in marketing your business and increasing your bottom-line by attracting more outside tourism dollars. This workshop is free and includes a light lunch, but you MUST register at http://www.slv-sbdc.com/training/cashing-in-on-tourism.
By attending the workshop you will walk away with a clear understanding of how to market and attract tourists, ways to adapt, grow, or inovate your business, new tools and resources to generate ideas for new business ventures, services, and products. Kim Smoyer, a local facilitator will help us identify creative problem solving techniques and tools for use in your business setting. This is an opportunity to network with other business and to increase exposure through inclusion on the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area website as a business that supports tourism.
The mission of the SDCNHA is to preserve, protect, and promote the San Luis Valley as a heritage tourism destination to visitors. Heritage tourists can be identified by their interest in local history and authentic experiences.
